How it's done
Twin boyfriends is made with a clay roll. This roller is modelled in a handcrafted manner, following all the steps to its final shape. After its first cooking, it is painted with its own paints, the glazed ones. It goes back to the furnace at the melting temperature of the glass which in this case is 1000 º.
Then it is applied on a base that has a spike and is filled in the work that gains its verticality.
Where I inspire
Boyfriends, love-gender issues, themes that live in me and like a seed that at the right time germinates and gives fruit.
It also inspires me to think and question gender issues. From birth we determine differences in treatment, between him and her, by clothing, stimuli, colors, affections, play, permissivities, all of it or hers in order to fragment by gender.
This sharing of roles and rigor in the separation that is living results in confusing and fragmented societies in their individuals.
We're not just one or the other, we have the two woman-men who live in each of us. One day we are one more, another day the other, and it is in this discovering, allowing and living full that we discover ourselves as people.
The pleasure of clay
